My career started in the early 1980s in Seattle working on yachts in Lake Union. I perfected my carpentry and varnishing skills by hopping from boat to boat.
From there I expanded my skills into homes. I worked in large upscale housing in the Queen Anne Hill, Capitol Hill, Ballard, and Ravenna neighborhoods.
One of my current passions is repurposing furniture. I find pieces that have outgrown their original purpose and give it a new life and purpose. Some examples include transforming a piano into a shelf and an organ into a desk.
Recently I obtained some live edge slabs of wood. I have created and sold furniture with these slabs, and will continue to create original pieces.
Wheel thrown pottery is a creative outlet that brings me joy. I am skilled at creating original pieces, I instruct groups of people through classes, and I am working on getting my own home studio off the ground.
